The Winston Rod Flyfishing Museum features displays of flyfishing in the West. The Twin Bridges Historical Museum depicts the settling of the area from the days of Native Americans to the present. Twin Bridges was named after the two bridges that stretch across the Jefferson River or after the two bridges over the Beaverhead and Big Hole rivers. Originally the town was known as The Bridges. In 1889, the first Normal School was built. The school was moved, after political maneuvering, in 1893, to start the college in Dillon.
