Big Trout Ranch
Big Trout Ranch is a private 1,400 acre ranch located in the pristine Beaverhead Valley, surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains. The ranch features a mile of Beaverhead River frontage, a spring creek, and two ponds loaded with trout. Expect to see a cornucopia of wildlife in your back yard - antelope, deer, bald eagles, foxes, sand hill cranes, ducks, pheasant, geese, great horned owls and even an occasional moose and elk (just to mention a few). This property is the outdoors man's paradise! Great fishing, hiking, horseback riding, bird watching, etc... Horses welcome! This ranch is an official 'Photo Opp Stop' of Lewis & Clark Enthusiasts because of the magnificent views!
Choose from a Vintage 1890 Log Cabin or 2 newly remodeled homes, Kamloop and Big Brown (described below). The homes/cabin can be rented together or separately. The three accommodations are spread out over the ranch, and thus, each remains very private.
VINTAGE 1890 LOG CABIN: (see image gallery above for photo) This quaint and cozy one room log cabin sets in a beautiful private location with a spring creek that meanders by the front deck. The interior is fully self contained and tastefully decorated in the style of the old west. The cabin is only a short walk to the pond and the river and is surrounded by breathtaking 360 degree mountain views. Ideal for a single, couple or couple with small child. Rates $95 per night or $650 per week.
KAMLOOPS: (see image gallery above for photo) Newly remodeled. This 3,200-square-foot, 5-bedroom, 4-bath home overlooks a sprawling park like setting with 100 year old cottonwood trees, and numerous waterways and ponds that comprise the river bottom. Observe an incredible variety of wildlife from an expansive deck. The house has been tastefully decorated with custom made lodge pole pine furniture. The home's unique recreation room has an antique 100+ year old high back bar, poker table, darts and a pool table. All rooms have great views! The house has 1 king, 3 queens and 2 twins beds. Sleeps 5-10. Rates are $325 per night or $2,100 per week.
BIG BROWN: (see image gallery above for photo) Newly remodeled. This impressive 2,800-square-foot, 4-bedroom, 5-bath historic log home features an open floor plan and is also decorated with custom lodge pole furniture. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms. The lower level has a living room, kitchen/dining room, TV/den room, bathroom and laundry room. The house has 4 queens and 2 twins beds. Sleeps 4-8. Rates are $275 per night or $1,800 per week.

Amenities: Both homes and the cabin have fully furnished kitchens (including coffee makers), all linens, hair dryers, satellite TV, VCR, DVD, phone and complete use of ranch amenities. The two homes have laundry facilities. Big Brown has horseshoes and Kamloops has checkers, dominoes, backgammon, chess games and badminton. All rooms have big fluffy pillows and memory foam beds.
Other services available ala carte: Daily housekeeping, concierge service, fly fishing instruction, western BBQs, trap shooting lessons, guided hikes that focus on bird watching and wildflowers.
Activities: Near Ruby, Madison, Jefferson and Big Hole rivers. Great day trips include, Yellowstone National Park, Virginia City, Bannack State Park, Buffalo Jump State Park, Missouri Headwaters State Park, Dillon, Butte and Bozeman.
Please, no smoking indoors. Well behaved pets allowed in cabin with prior approval. Outdoor/garage pets only in houses.
